What to Expect at Your First Psychiatric Appointment
Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation lasting 60–90 minutes. Your provider will
review your mental health history, current symptoms, medications, family history, and life
circumstances. From there, you will receive a diagnosis and a collaborative treatment plan.
Follow-up medication management appointments are typically 20–30 minutes.
